In Spring OR Fall, Ohio lawns benefit greatly from yearly core aeration to maintain healthy root growth. That’s where we come in! At Davenport Landscape Co., we offer professional core aeration services to relieve soil compaction, improve nutrient absorption, and promote deeper root growth. Our team carefully perforates your lawn to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the grassroots more efficiently. This process helps your yard stay vibrant and resilient throughout the growing season. We handle the entire job with attention to detail, ensuring minimal disruption and a cleaner, healthier lawn after each service.

Our routine maintenance services are available in the Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, North Olmsted, North Ridgeville, Rocky River and Westlake. We are located in Westlake near Crocker Park and service the radius of cities surrounding.

Our core aeration process restores the flow of nutrients to the roots of your grass.

Give your lawn a faster, fuller recovery using when we use our professional grade Stinger Quad Aer with simultaneous aeration + seeding capabilities. Our professional-grade aerator not only pulls plugs but punches seeds directly into core holes.

Over time, lawn soil can become compacted, limiting the movement of nutrients, oxygen, and moisture to your grass roots. To address this, we provide core aeration services. This process uses specialized equipment to extract small soil plugs from your lawn, creating tiny openings that allow essential elements like air, water, sunlight, and nutrients to penetrate deeply and nourish the grass roots.

After completing our core aeration process, you'll notice many small plugs, or cores, scattered on your lawn. This is intentional. These cores break down naturally, returning valuable nutrients to the soil. While you can speed up this process by raking them, it is not necessary to remove them from your lawn.

Core aeration process is most beneficial during the months of September and October.

We leave the cores of soil on your lawn to decompose.

At Davenport Landscaping, we’ve upgraded our aeration and overseeding service with a top-of-the-line Stinger aerator equipped with an integrated seed box. Unlike traditional methods where seed is broadcast over the lawn after aeration, our machine aerates and applies seed simultaneously in a single pass.

As the Stinger pulls cores and opens the soil, seed is distributed directly during the aeration process. This creates better seed-to-soil contact, more consistent seed placement, and improved access to moisture and nutrients—giving new grass the ideal conditions for successful germination and establishment.

The result is more efficient overseeding designed to help thicken your lawn, fill bare and thinning areas, and encourage dense, healthy new growth. We typically recommend aeration and overseeding in early fall, when cooler temperatures and favorable soil conditions give new grass time to establish a strong root system before winter.

We suggest getting core aeration and overseeding every other year to keep your lawn healthy and green.
